Edith Aleen Mathews passed away at home in Morgan’s Point, TX onSeptember 4 after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born November 10, 1939 to Ned EK Brown and Evelyn Brown ofMoffat, TX. She is survived by her mother Evelyn Brown of Belton,sister Jewell Isaacks of Belton, TX; sister Frances Drake of Belton,TX; brothers Leon EK and Derrall Brown of Belton; her husband GuyMathews of Morgan’s Point, TX: daughter Joyce Kretz and son-in-lawKerry Kretz of Las Vegas, NM; granddaughter Jessica Kretz of SantaFe, NM; grandson Lyle Kretz of Las Vegas, NM; and innumerable otherfamily, ‘adopted family’ and friends.
A memorial celebration will beheld September 22 at Mountainair, NM at 1 pm at the old Assembly ofGod campground at the west end of town. Contact Jack Mathews if you have questions. In lieu of flowers, we request that you donate to your favoritecharity in her name.
