A Public Hearings are beign held to "report on past CDBG (Community Development Block Grant) program activities and to receive public input on community development needs and suggestions for future CDBG projects".
The Community Development Block Grant Program is charged with assisting "communities in providing essential community facilities, providing decent housing for residents, promoting economic development and maintaining a suitable living environment."
The State of New Mexico estimates $15,000,000.00 as the 2010 appropriation amount "to be distributed on a statewide" "competivitive" basis. Maximum allocation amounts are "$500,000.00 with the exception of planning applicaions which are limited to $50,000.00".
The meetings will explain eligible activites that may be funded by the CDGB program and the public is invited to attend and share "project ideas, provide supporting supporting data and testimoniy, and other pertinent information". All hearings are open the public.

Monday, September 20, 2010 - Estancia Schools Board Room 12:00 - 1:00pm
**Tuesday, September 21, 2010 Moriarty Civic Center
Rotary Luncheon 12:00 noon (not required but available)
Public Meeting 12:15pm (free of charge)
**The hearing is open to the public and will be held the Rotary luncheon. Lunch will be served at 12:00 noon as part of the Rotary meeting. The public is not required to purchase lunch but those who would like to have lunch may do so, the cost for lunch is $10.00 per plate. Those wishing to attend just the meeting are invited to do so free of charge and are not required to purchase lunch.
