Dear New Mexico USMA Cadet, 

You and your parents are invited to attend the annual Joint Service Academy reception for New Mexico cadets, midshipmen and candidates to the United States Service Academies.  The reception will be held from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at the Courtyard by Marriott Journal Center, 5151 Journal Center Drive, Albuquerque, NM.  Refreshments and hors d’oeuvres will be served. 

The reception is in honor of cadets and midshipmen from New Mexico currently attending U.S. Services Academies and also is intended to provide a forum where applicants to the service academies may interact and have questions answered directly by cadets and midshipmen attending these academies.  Representatives of the Service Academy Parents’ Clubs will also be present to address any questions from parents and candidates.  In addition, the various service academy information / liaison officers will be available for questions.

 

At 3:30 New Mexico cadets and midshipmen will be recognized in a short program followed by a talk given by guest speakers Captain Ned Carroll, US Coast Guard (Retired), a 1977 graduate of the Coast Guard Academy, and his wife, Colonel Laurie Carroll, US Air Force (Retired), who is currently the Director of Manpower at the USAFA.

  
Civilian attire is casual; military, service dress / class A uniform.
