Family Seeking Good Home For Their Pets

Dear Friends,

Bob and I are hoping that you might be able to help us, or know of someone who could.  We will be moving in a couple of months; and we will be unable to take our beloved cats with us. They are like our children, we love them dearly, and we would like to find each of them a loving home, if possible.

Let me tell you about them:

Tiger is an 8-year-old tan and black tabby DSH (domestic short hair). We rescued her when we lived in Nevada. She is a large cat with a beautiful coat. She is smart and in good health. She is timid around strangers until she gets acquainted; but is a devoted, though at times aloof, companion. She is spayed and has always been an indoor cat.

Little One is a 5-year-old orange and crème tabby DSH. We rescued her in Albuquerque. She is a lover!!! Seriously!! If you know someone who craves or needs attention, this is the cat to have! She is a small cat who apparently lived awhile on her own; but has been an indoor cat most of her life. She is spayed and in good health and has one interesting characteristic: she had her tail injured at some point in her life. It is short and angular in shape—part of her charm.

Both cats are micro-chipped.  We have kept the cats indoors here because of the danger of owls and coyotes in our area. We think it would be less necessary in the city.

Our cats are too old to be accepted in a “no-kill” refuge. Those locations will take them, but for an exorbitant fee each year to pay for their care. We simply aren’t able to handle that. We would prefer not to have them euthanized. We are aware of a woman in Las Vegas, NM who has a cat refuge; but the cats there are basically outside in the Northern New Mexico weather with access to a barn for shelter when needed. That location will be our last resort.

If you or someone you know might be interested in adopting our little girls, or you need further information, please call us at 384-0004 or email us at pmwindes@yahoo.com. We have litter boxes, cat-carrying totes and water dispensers to provide.

Thank you.

Phyllis Windes
