It Takes Many to Make a Community

Although we are physically divided by invisible town/village boundaries, we are unified in the spirit of a greater community, a community that works together during times of trail.

During the fires over these past eight months our towns, villages, and county residents pulled together to help family, friends, neighbors and new comers a like without question or hesitation.

To Those Who;
  • Placed themselves in harms way to protect lives and property
  • Provided evacuees with food and shelter
  • Helped families and livestock get to safety
  • Comforted families with losses
  • Continue to work towards reclamation

Thank You!

Major events such as these show what a community is made of and this writer is filled with pride in our community for setting the shinning example of what a community should be, neighbor helping neighbor, friends helping friends.

Let's be thankful too that we are not in California.

A friend in Sacramento describes her view of California Burning:

"The smoke has been bad here--warnings on air quality, days where the light looked like it was a partial eclipse going on, red sunsets with the red sun sometimes even a dull purple. Burning eyes. Roads closed all over the state. Everywhere we go the sky is funky. The worst was at the south end of the valley - all the smoke blown up against hills too high for it to get over. I couldn't believe they still sold fireworks with the state like a giant tinderbox."
