No More Free Ride

At a town hall meeting this past Saturday, House Representative Stephen Easley gently explained what he expects for funding requests from those in his district.  He suggests that the county consider their strategic plan and be prepared to justify requests for monies from the legislature.  It was suggested that the "special projects", projects that only benefit a few, might be avoided and projects that provide benefit to more people be a priority, items that will be a point of consideration in granting funding.

No free ride either, the days of 100% project funding and loan forgiveness are a thing of the past so towns and county governments seeking funds need to be prepared to pay portions of project costs themselves.  What does that mean here in Torrance County remains to be seen.
